State Gets Google Chrome

State’s recent deployment of Google’s Chrome has gotten some attention from Ars Technica.  While I sympathize with my IRM colleagues’ no-win position, it’s nice to see that someone acknowledged we had to move on from IE7.  While the public reasoning usually goes something along the lines of making it easier to access modern public outreach tools like Facebook and Twitter, the Department’s employees have been clamoring for an IE alternative for years, and the chorus has gotten louder.

Chrome runs like a charm.  Accessing the internet from the OpenNet doesn’t seem like such a chore for the first time in years.
